Our Plants
We specialise in growing Shrubs, Herbaceous Perennials and Summer Container Plants.
All our plants are grown in a reduced peat compost appropriate to the type of plant.
We do not use any artificial heat source and all our plants are produced ready to transfer directly to your garden with the minimum of stress.
Hardy Plants
Where possible all hardy plants are grown outside so that they have experienced the British weather before they reach your home. Sometimes this means that our plants are not as lush as those found in garden centres but they are always hardy and ready to plant out.
We believe that we, as gardeners, have a duty to protect and encourage wildlife so, where possible, we produce our plants without recourse to pesticides or herbicides. Sometimes you will find holes in leaves or snails on pots (but we do not expect you to take the snails home with you!)
Shrubs
Our Shrubs are produced for sale initially in a 3 litre pot but we have a policy of potting up when the plant needs it so we usually have most of our range available in larger sizes, up to 10 litres, which makes a more instant visual impact. We like to grow varieties that are not always the ones commonly available, although many old favourites are to be found in our displays.
Herbaceous Plants
We produce our Herbaceous Plants mainly in 2 litre pots although in the Spring and Autumn we normally have a good range in 9 cm pots.
Again, we like to offer some new or unusual varieties alongside old favourites and at most times we would have available varieties of Aconitum, 
Achillea, Ajuga, Allium, Alstroemeria, Anemone, Anthemis, Aster, Astilbe, Astrantia, Bergenia, Campanula, Crocosmia, Delphinium, Dicentra, Digitalis, Doronicum, Echinops, Euphorbia, Filipendula, Geranium, Geum, Helenium, Hemerocallis, Heuchera, Heucherella, Hosta, Iris, Kniphofia, Lamium, Liriope, Lupin, Lythrum, Malva, Monarda, Nepeta, Ophiopogon, Paeonia, Papaver, Penstemon, Phygelius, Rudbeckia, Sedum, Tiarella, Tradescantia, Verbena, Veronica, Waldsteinia and Zantedeschia.
We often grow a very few of a particular plant so we find it impossible to produce a list of everything that is available. If you are looking for a special item why not give us a ring – we may have one in stock, or we may be able to source one for you if we don’t have it!
